America's irreplaceable treasure, wild horses are in grave danger.

With gather and holding numbers increasing there are less horses on the range than ever in American history (between 12 and 18,000). On June 30th at the American Wild Horse and Burro Advisory Council meeting the Bureau of Land Management announced it's potential inability to support the 20,000 wild horses presently in BLM holding facilities. This could result in euthanasia of these animals if support does not immediately arrive.

In essence, the private sector must take action and responsibility for the horses. Diversity on belief and approach among Wild Horse groups in the US can become a point of strength as it is in the wild herds themselves. In October 2008 an emergency wild horse and burro summit will be held in Las Vegas Nevada. It's intentions are to share current factual information and research, strengthen our wild horse community nationally and identify immediate solutions to the current crisis.
