Dunluce
Dam The Banks
Sire Young Henry Connors by Old Henry
14.3 hands

Dunluce was named after Dunluce castle in North Eastern Ireland where Isolt of ancient legend was born.

Her dam, The Banks, is a mare of great renown. Her foals are guarded and treasured  having sold for incredible amounts deep within the gypsy community.
Dunluce is the only daughter of this great mare to cross the ocean.

A mare of true beauty she exemplifies the old gypsy lines bearing remarkable substance and and suprising ajility. The old ones would say “she could pull a train through quicksand”.
Light and lively on her feet, she drives well from the rear and has wonderful reach in the front.
Her movement is a surprise, this massive mare floats across the ground.

Lu is the stable trickster, into absolutely everything and everyone that crosses her path.
Her curiosity and love of life endear her to all who meet her, especially children.
Our Lu loves little ones, in any shape or form and once in a flood drove a herd of young cows into a round corral of safety until folks arrived to find the mother cows outside the corral looking on as Lu guarded the wee ones.
She is also particularly fond of soccer balls and is a worthy adversary in a football “soccer” match.

Lu is the mare that Marisa had to work for… She does not give her heart easily and it took the two of them a year of trials to earn each other’s trust. Magically as these things do it happened one night as Marisa slept in the pasture with the mares and a pack of coyotes created the moment of truth between them…
Since that day Lu and M have formed an unbreakable partnership that has not only healed their two hearts but the hearts and minds of many others who have suffered through trauma and war.
